July 10, 2023 – ECH2O Corporation is proud to announce the deployment of the Watermaster Classic V, an advanced amphibious dredging solution, to clear and maintain key waterways within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and enhance flood prevention efforts.
The Watermaster Classic V represents a leap forward in efficiency and mobility for dredging operations. Despite retaining its compact, amphibious footprint, this next-generation model now delivers a 50 % increase in dredging capacity compared to its predecessor, Classic IV. Its powerful Caterpillar C7.1 engine, rated at 205 kW, drives exceptional performance in diverse sediment conditions.
Its technical innovations go beyond raw power. The Watermaster Classic V features Aquamec’s patented Cutting Knife System, allowing it to slice through debris-laden urban sediments—enabling dredging in areas previously accessible only by manual excavation. New hard-soil attachments, including a reinforced cutter crown and a high-torque hydraulic motor, ensure robust performance across a wide range of substrates.
Compact yet potent, with a transport length of just 11 m, width of 3.3 m, and operating depth capability up to 6.5 m, the Watermaster Classic V delivers unmatched maneuverability in challenging coastal environments like Subic Bay.
As climate volatility increases, such cutting-edge amphibious solutions are key to keeping ports and freeports flood-resilient. Ech2O’s introduction of the Watermaster Classic V underscores its commitment to combining technological innovation with environmental stewardship—protecting communities and infrastructure through intelligent waterway management.
This deployment not only strengthens Subic Bay’s defenses against flooding; it also reflects ECH2O’s forward-thinking investments in best-in-class equipment, ensuring continued safe and efficient operations for all users of the Freeport Zone.
